Release highlights

Fingertip 3.4 is the latest in leadership technology, arriving shortly in your Teams tenant. Make sure to ask your Teams admin to install the latest version using our customer portal to get your hands on the latest features.

We’ve focused on strategic planning and execution with the annual clock and planner features, and on productivity with new user experience improvements.

The annual clock feature is the top new feature from the 3.4 release and a lot of effort has gone into it. Anticipated by many of our customers, it offers a new way to view multiple plans over a period of one calendar year side by side. It offers a strategic outlook to what are the hotspots of the year and helps avoid massive concurrent workloads.

Our Planner integration is also getting more useful with each iteration. This time we have added support to Planner within all Fingertip activators. Now, creating Planner tasks related to (for example) decisions is easy and straight-forward, and improves the audit trail.

We’ve also implemented rich text to all description fields, meaning more creativity in expression when crafting your activators. Expect the change to streamline your communication and information flow.

Since the 3.3 release, we have also fixed several bugs, making this the most stable version of Fingertip yet. There have also been a number of other usability improvements in navigation, user guidance, copying and many more.

Annual clock view (BETA)

Annual clock is a powerful tool for strategic planning and operational efficiency. It provides a structured framework for managing time and resources, enhancing coordination, and driving the organization towards its long-term goals.

With the annual clock, you can choose Fingertip collections, plans or Microsoft Planners to be visualized. Load the visual and see their items’ duration over the year.

The annual clock has the following features:

  • Click items to open them for viewing / editing
  • Scroll to zoom the visual
  • Change visualized year
  • Filter to only show selected activator types
  • Export to PDF and SVG

The Planner task integration inside Fingertip is now stronger than ever. You can now use Planner tasks inside Fingertip to manage all your tasks in one place inside Microsoft Teams.

Fingertip now has the following new functionalities for Planner tasks:

  • Add / edit notes of Planner tasks that are reflected to Planner
  • Publish Planner plans and tasks as posts to Teams channels
  • Add Planner tasks to any activator using the Tasks or Items tabs
  • Link Teams files to Planner tasks (only viewable in Fingertip)
  • Classify Planner tasks using Fingertip’s Teams classification

A rich text editor for all activators enhances user experience by providing a more intuitive and flexible interface for content creation.

Users can easily format text, making their content more engaging and visually appealing. This functionality allows for greater creativity and customization, empowering users to express their ideas effectively.

This feature is available in all activators such as:

  • All activators’ description / decision field
  • Meeting agenda item description

Meeting summary with AI (BETA)

Meeting summary with AI (BETA)

The meeting summary with AI enhances productivity and collaboration by providing a concise overview of key discussions, action items, and decisions, which can be easily shared and integrated with productivity tools like Planner.

Launch the AI feature by pressing the AI button  in the top right corner, and select “Summarize with AI”

Enter a meeting transcript (in .vtt format), choose the data sources from the meeting activator and let AI do its magic!

After the summary is completed, you can create the suggested action items as Planner tasks and save the entire AI summary to a meeting agenda item!

Note: Using the feature consumes AI Builder credits, which are sold separately.

We have enhanced navigation within the Teams channel and popup application mode to provide a better end user experience.

Users can now easily move between different tabs and screens without losing their context, which saves time and improves productivity.

The ability to quickly return to the main collection or home screen after navigating through various activators helps maintain user awareness and makes the application feel more intuitive.

The icon to perform this action can be seen in the top left corner of the navigation. The icon is different depending on the context the user is currently in: a channel or a global app.

Other new features

Link Teams discussions

Fingertip now allows users to link existing Teams discussions to activators, helping you connect every message related to an item in one place.

By using this feature, users do not need to create a new post to open the discussion about an activator but can continue where the collaboration started. It also helps to build the audit trail and background for the activator.

To use this feature, copy the link to the Teams channel post that you wish to link to the activator by clicking “…” and selecting “Copy link”.

Paste a link of Teams channel post in the text field, click “Create” and ta-da! You can now see the entire discussion inside the selected activator.

Activator module selector

Fingertip’s new admin feature allows the Fingertip admin to enable and disable specific activators and features. This is only available for the Fingertip admins in the separate “Fingertip Admin” app.

This feature is useful especially useful for users who do not want to be blinded by the amount of leadership features that Fingertip offers.

Whether you use another tool for specific functions or want to simplify and clarify Fingertip use, selecting the activators visible to users is as easy as clicking a button.

Home page changes

Home page is the command center that collects data from around the organization in one view for better situational awareness.

It collects personal activators, schedule and bookmarks to frequent items in one view.

We have enhanced the home page with a new layout template and more useful features.

  • View selector to browse the content tailored for you or the entire organization
  • Bookmarks – Pin your most used activators
  • Improved filters to view the content from another user’s viewpoint
  • Schedule view to browse today’s upcoming meetings and deadlines
  • Recent posts to view the latest discussion
  • Improved performance and load time
  • Responsiveness and UI improvements

These changes aim to help the user to plan and take action in their daily work!

Enhanced user experience

There has been several minor user experience improvements to reduce the number of clicks and time needed to perform actions in Fingertip.

The most notable changes are:

  • Automatic input focus for typing
  • Improved load times in screens
  • Improved hover effects for clickable buttons
  • More consistent UI in dropdowns and fonts
  • More responsive lists and activator views
  • Improved translations
